Carol Collins has a background in diagnostic radiography, creative arts, and therapeutic horse riding and as an Occupational Therapist has worked in the field of neuro-rehabilitation since 1992. In 1997 Carol began operating as an independent Occupational Therapist and case manager specializing in acquired neurological disability and in 2004 became known as Northern Case Management Ltd.
Carol is the Clinical Director of Northern Case Management Ltd (NCM), providing supervision and training for all NCM case managers and Occupational Therapists. Carol also provides training for families, finance deputies and support workers and for BABICM. The Company is registered with the Care Quality Commission. Carol is an Advanced Member of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers (BABICM).
Carol was a member of the Professional Standards Group and played an active role in the compilation of the Competency framework and Standards for BABICM. In addition, Carol served as a Council member of BABICM from 2005 – 2010 and was also the Membership Secretary. Carol is now the current Chair person. Carol also contributes to Headway by serving on the committee of a local group and provides a number of therapeutic sessions each year for Headway members. Published in 2002,
Carol was co-author of the acquired brain injury chapter in ‘Occupational Therapy and Physical Dysfunction’ publication which is frequently used in the training of occupational therapists.
Carol has prepared occupational therapy and case management reports and Statements for use in the litigation process, attended meetings with Counsel and given evidence in Court on numerous occasions. Outside of work Carol enjoys her extended family life and horse riding.
